Tessian and the Ponemon Institute Email DLP Report 2022
New research from the Ponemon Institute reveals that nearly 60% of organizations experienced data loss or exfiltration caused by an employee mistake on email in the last 12 months. Email was revealed as the riskiest channel for data loss in organizations, as stated by 65% of IT security practitioners. This was closely followed by cloud file-sharing services (62%) and instant messaging platforms (57%).

Tessian set out to be more aggressive in their efforts to increase thought leadership and share of voice (SOV) within the security industry. And part of this project was to produce a high-quality, meaningful thought leadership research report that spoke directly to decision makers in the email security and data loss prevention (DLP) space.
The core of this project included a sponsored research report with the Ponemon Institute, to survey over several hundred security professionals in the United States, about their concerns about sensitive data leaving the organization via email.
